I loved how the author described how not just ranchers but politicians helped to exterminate the wolves. I found it very interesting how people killed off all the wolves but in doing so, killed off a major predator of deer. The explosion of deer is fueling the rebirth of the species in the West. Too often have the large predators been killed off and left the herbivores population to grow without check; mainly because of the need for more money. I really like the end how he defined the latin name for that particular species of wolf. It gave me hope they would once again establish a large population.
