1. 1. This image is the Band Shell in East Park in Mason City, Iowa. I chose this because it is near the center of our town and everybody knows what and where it is. Sometimes bands will come and play during holidays and people will stop and listen.
2. 2. The musical “The Music Man” is famous for taking place in “River City”; which is the nickname for our town. People all across the country have seen the musical, but not many know that River City is in fact Mason City.

3. A cool breeze awakens the oaks as their leaves stir. A robin pecks through the mud searching for a morning meal. Nearby, an endless cascade fills the air with a growl. An early visitor moves swiftly along cracked asphalt paths. Yesterday’s guitar and percussion is replaced today; heavy breaths and slapping shoes sustain the rhythm. Rustling leaves, chirping birds, and flowing fluid feed the timbre. This song goes unnoticed, the visitor unaware. Wires hang from ears reaching into a pocket. Lost in yesterday’s music, the visitor passes the quiet building. The rhythm fades into the distance, a song turns to sounds.
