I didn't like this book overall. I was not sure if the author had a negative view of New Orleans or a hopeful one. Also, the poems just got long and repetitious thus hard to follow. They also just seemed disorganized after page 17. I lost track of what they applied to and seemed to all run together like one big bowl of poem “alphabet soup.” However, I did like one thing about the poems. They all had a fairly unique structure. On page 73 she superimposes a question in the text of the poem almost as if it words could be applied to the story but at the same time completely independent.
